Idea #1 – A simple way to recycle –

Ted Hruslinski, Camcor, Inc – Burlington , NC – www.camcor.com

We have received from various vendors of the years, an assortment of illuminated signs which have promoted the vendor’s name and products. We have been recycling these signs by removing the manufacturer's insert and replacing it with a new insert printed on our Epson wide format printer promoting products and services that we offer. This way, if you want, you can make a small vendor appear larger. You can bring attention to the services that you want to promote. And as the market and services change, change your sign again. The only cost was the time to redesign the insert and the cost of the ink and media.

Idea #2 – Maintain existing – and obtain new – customers

Torben Lorentsen -Salgsleder – minilab- Fujifilm Danmark A/S – www.fujifilm.dk

In Denmark for two consecutive years we are offering a summer competition for our photo lab customers (end users). When picking up their film after development they write their name and phone number on the back of the control tab and put it in a box. On August 31 we draw lots for 23 prizes: 1 travel gift voucher, 1 FinePix digital camera, Fujifilm Q1’s and 20 calendars made from the customer’s own negative or digital file.

The campaign is marketed with advertisements, posters, photo stuffers, and by telling the customer every time he/she buys film for the summer vacation. The campaign is running approximately 3 months.

Goal: To maintain our existing – and obtain new – customers.

Med venlig hilsen/Best regards

Torben

Idea #3 – Tie into their business to attract employees of a company

Ben Deering, Training for Learning , Australia - trainingforlearn@ozemail.com

We have just developed a 4x6 of the new car which we are using as an invitation for all the staff at the dealership to visit our store and receive a 10% discount for the month the 4x6 has overprint offering a 10% discount on processing when they visit the store with the photo we believe they will recognize the vehicle they had in their showroom and feel a sense of loyalty to the new owner

Regards,

Ben

Idea #4 – Don't let Chris Lydle rot behind bars - Free the Aiken 1!

A Public Service Announcement

(Ed note: Chris Lydle is the “volunteer” who owns/runs the Photo Image News website where the McCurry Marketing Idea Exchange is archived. If you appreciate Chris’ labor to bring you the archives then please read on and let your conscience be your guide)

On November 13th, your fearless webmaster will be locked up. Only you can help to free me!  No, the lockup hasn't got anything to do with First Amendment rights or failure to divulge sources or anything like that.

On Thursday, November 13th, 2003 I will be in jail for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The MDA has set my bail at $1,800 and I need your help. All the money raised goes to help "Jerry's Kids," youngsters and adults affected by muscular dystrophy, by providing clinic services, support groups, research grants and the summer camp program.

Even if you think I belong behind bars, won't you donate for the kids? All donations are tax deductible. Here's a form that you can fill out and fax to me. www.photoimagenews.com/bailform.htm - Or, you can reach Chris at 803 641-0501 or Chris@PhotoImageNews.com
